Zopeful Climate is on a mission to combat human-caused climate change, all backed by the latest science. We believe that it's up to all of us to overcome the anxiety, doom and distraction to make meaningful progress reducing and removing planet-heating emissions. Every tonne matters.
Since we started we've reached people in over 65 countries with our easy-to-read climate science based online courses, and our ready-made Carbon Removal Portfolio has enabled people and companies from 8 countries to support high-quality carbon removal projects around the world.
We're always looking for fellow climate people to join us to add to the collective impact we're making. We've found that on the other side of all the doom, anxiety and FUD (fear, uncertainty & doubt) is a place of hope and action. We'd love you to find that too.

Over the last couple of years, we've been delighted to see the amount of interest in working in climate grow. In all honesty, the field is still early, and it can be hard to fully transition into climate or climate-related work, at any stage of your career.

About this opportunity

We're presently looking for a volunteer to support our operations for an initial 3 month project. It's ideal for someone with an interest in all things climate that has experience working cross-functionally in an operations or product ops role.
This is a part-time (4 hours per week) opportunity to work on a climate project in the real world, learn as you create, to explore your interest and build your climate knowledge while contributing to something that people around the world will see.
It would suit you if you:
- are interested in exploring and digging deep into climate science, decarbonization, carbon removal and other important climate-related topics
- have experience and/or be comfortable working across finance, product, people/hiring, and creating other general operational systems (to help us function efficiently while building a supportive environment)
- are comfortable and motivated working in unstructured environments
- want to contribute your skills towards solving climate change in an active way
- already work in this type of role and are considering transitioning your career to being climate-focused
- are able to commit a minimum of 4 hours per week (full flexibility on when these happen)
Requirements:
- previous relevant operations and/or product experience
- professional level written English
- live in European or North American timezones

Why is this a volunteer position?We think motivated people can change the world for the better and in small amounts of time. At present we're looking for people able and willing to contribute four hours a week of their time to building on the foundation we've started here at Zopeful.We provide all our educational content to folks for free because climate change impacts us all and understanding it shouldn't be behind a paywall or someone's ability to pay. We're a small operation that is mission-driven and not taking a profit at this stage. Our goal is to be an impartial voice for what individuals and companies can actually do to make an impact on climate change, based on the science. For this reason, we are currently only able to offer volunteer positions. For your help, we do invest in removing 1 tonne of carbon on your behalf (this is equivalent to about 1/6th of a typical person's annual carbon emissions in Europe or 1/14th for someone in North America).
Our ready-made, curated, portfolio of high quality carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions is live. It aims for the highest permanence-for-the-$-per-tonne that we can find.
We're excited to be working with an inspiring group of global CDR companies taking the fight to the Climate Crisis. They're doing amazing work that holds a tonne - pun intended - of promise.
